Chapter 3: The Mysterious Big Shot Can Heal Bianca

After finishing the paperwork, Olivia returned directly to Bianca’s side to tend to her, while also waiting for Michael to arrive to discuss further divorce matters.

But a long while went by, and Olivia only caught him answering a call in the hallway. His voice carried a tenderness she had never heard before.

Then, Michael’s hurried footsteps faded away.

Olivia glanced at the divorce papers resting on the bedroom nightstand, they were still untouched.

So, Michael hadn’t seen the papers? She frowned, a wave of anxiety rising, tempted to call him at once and clarify everything. Yet, she held herself back.

Divorce was a matter that had to be addressed in person. If he didn’t notice the papers tonight, he would encounter them tomorrow or the next day.

Regardless, she was resolved to finalize the divorce!

That night, Michael didn’t return home.

The following morning, Olivia awoke to find Bianca appearing lethargic and downcast.

Concerned, she promptly reached out to Harper Anderson, the psychologist, to schedule a routine check-up.

Harper was a well-known psychologist hired by Michael, boasting an impressive background and accolades from numerous respected institutions.

Yet, despite the ongoing treatment, Bianca’s condition had shown little improvement.

When Harper arrived, Olivia couldn’t resist asking, "Dr. Anderson, you’ve been seeing Bianca for some time, but why does it feel like there’s been no progress?"

Harper exuded an air of arrogance and detachment. Her expression shifted instantly at the unexpected question.

She shot back angrily, "Who’s the psychologist here, you or me? Mr. Johnson invited me personally. What gives you the right to question me?"

Olivia hadn’t anticipated such a strong response and found herself feeling somewhat irritated.

She replied sharply, "I’m not trying to challenge you, but Bianca hasn’t shown any improvement. As her mother, don’t I have the right to ask? Are you truly a professional?"

The line of questioning left Harper feeling humiliated.

She rose abruptly, fixing Olivia with a glare. "Ms. Smith, if you doubt my professionalism, you’re free to find someone else.I’m done handling this case! But mark my words, you’d better not regret it!"

With that, she stomped away in her heels.

About ten minutes afterward, Michael rang, exactly as Olivia had predicted.

Michael’s voice was icy and reproachful. "Olivia, what are you doing? Why did you send Dr. Anderson away?"

The harshness in his tone made Olivia’s chest tighten.

She responded nonchalantly, "Her treatment hasn’t worked. I said a few things, and she couldn’t handle it and left. Who’s at fault here?"

Michael refused to listen to her reasoning and kept reprimanding her. "You need to stop this foolishness. Dr. Anderson’s skills are well-respected in the field. Only you are questioning her! Do you even care if Bianca gets better? Now, call Dr. Anderson and apologize. Bring her back here!"

Olivia felt as if needles were stabbing her heart. From the very beginning, Michael hadn’t shown the slightest concern for Bianca’s condition.

He only wanted to make her apologize to Harper! His treatment of an outsider was far more considerate than how he treated her and Bianca.

How had she ever chosen him back then? She had been so infatuated, so consumed, as if she’d lost herself completely. Perhaps now, it wasn’t too late to see him for who he really was.

She tightened her fists and spoke sharply, "I won’t say sorry to her. I’m Bianca’s mom, and it’s my right to pick her physician! "If she refuses to return, all the better!"

She ended the call, unwilling to listen to Michael any longer.

Then, she brought Bianca to enjoy the special “kids’ playground.”

This playground had been created by Olivia and Emily back when Emily was alive, designed specially for Bianca.

Bianca wasn’t like most children; she favored solitude. The toys and play equipment here had been thoughtfully arranged by Olivia and Emily just for her..

Bianca quickly lost herself in play. Watching her, Olivia made a firm decision, she could no longer allow Harper to stall Bianca’s treatment.

No matter what, she had to secure a new psychologist for Bianca without delay.

She sprang into action, heading to the study, opening her computer, and swiftly researching top psychologists both at home and abroad.

But it wasn’t simple. Bianca had been diagnosed with autism when she was just one year old.

Over the past two years, the Johnsons had consulted numerous renowned doctors across the country, repeatedly seeking treatment, yet achieved little success.

Olivia searched extensively but couldn’t find anyone trustworthy. Just then, her friend Evelyn Thomas called.

She had just learned of Emily’s death and called to offer Olivia some comfort. "Olivia, you have to stay strong and not let yourself be overwhelmed with grief. Mrs. Johnson wouldn’t want you to be consumed by sorrow over her."

Olivia felt tears welling up as she recalled rushing out of the funeral, unable to say a proper goodbye to Emily.

But she restrained herself, putting on a brave face. "I know."

"Don’t shed tears. Even with Mrs. Johnson gone, you’ve still got me and Bianca…"

Evelyn inquired with worry, "By the way, has there been any improvement in Bianca’s condition lately?"

Olivia shook her head. "Not really, I intended to ask you because you rang. Are you aware of any competent psychologists? Bianca’s condition hasn’t gotten better, and I’m anxious!"

Evelyn reflected for a moment. After a short pause, a name surfaced in her mind. "In fact, I know someone!"

Olivia’s mood brightened. "Really? Could you connect me with them?"

Evelyn hurried to reassure her. "I’m sorry, I can’t… I’ve merely heard about this individual."They’re extremely talented! Word has it that numerous powerful figures are eager to employ him, and even the military has made significant efforts to recruit him…

But he’s extremely enigmatic and difficult to locate. I have no idea how to reach him at the moment. But I’m certain that if we can locate him, Bianca’s condition will surely get better!"

Hearing Evelyn’s words, Olivia felt a spark of excitement.

"Evelyn, is this therapist genuinely that capable?" She feared it could be another Harper, full of fame, yet delivering no actual results.

"Don’t worry. This doctor is truly talented. I’ll share more about his cases later. For now, just relax! I’ll help you find him." "As soon as I hear anything, I’ll tell you right away, okay?" Evelyn sensed Olivia’s urgency and reassured her warmly.

Olivia understood that things wouldn’t progress smoothly from the start.

Bianca had been ill since she was just one, and Olivia had hoped for a miracle every single day. She had already waited so long; a few more days wouldn’t matter.
